Emergency Action Plan
The information in this packet is a guide for club administration, team officials, coaches,
emergency responders, and others for emergencies that may occur during athletic events.
Volunteers, administration and all athletic staff must review this packet PRIOR to the beginning of the athletic competition.
EMERGENCY EVACUATION INSTRUCTIONS
(To be posted in concession stands)
(Siren to blast at Holland Park)- One horn means to clear the fields and three horns means good to return to play
SEVERE LIGHTNING IN THE AREA:
“As soon as the horn goes, all players must exit the playing field. Tell all players to return to their vehicles. All unaccompanied players must wait by building.
THREAT OF TORNADOES IN THE AREA:
“Due to a threat of tornadoes, we are advising everyone to leave the area. Ensure all players leave the playing field
THREATS, GUNFIRE, RIOTS, ETC.:
“We are advising everyone to leave the area immediately. Please return to your vehicles.

EMERGENCY PERSONNEL: Our coaches are CPR certified, in case of emergency call our administrators:

EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION:
Who is trained in first response CPR and AED?
All of our coaches are trained in CPR and how to use the AED
How to alert the lead person in case of emergency?
Notify a coach or contact the administrators above.
EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT:
• Where is the AED?
-The AED is located inside of the concession stand on the left side of the wall before the ice machine
- Who can access the AED?
- Anyone can get access to the AED, if the concession stand is unlocked. If the concession stand is locked, call the administrators above after contacting emergency services.
- Do you need a key? Who has the key?
- If the concession stand is locked, you will need a key to enter. One coach from each practice time slot will have a key. If the concession stand is locked, contact one of the administrators above.
• Where is first aid, stop the bleed? Do you need a key? Who has the key?
- The first aid kit is placed next to the fridge in the blue bag. Several of our coaches also carry first aid kits and can provide on the field support.
ROLE OF FIRST RESPONDERS:
1. Establish scene safety and immediate care of injured/ill athlete(s)
2. Activation of Emergency Medical Services (EMS):
a. Dial 911 (if using fixed phone, dial 9 first then 911)
b. Provide name and address of location: 250 Vincent Dr, Athens, GA 30607
c. Provide the number of individuals injured and their condition
d. Provide specific directions to locate the emergency scene mentioning flaggers:
EMS can enter field by entrance by Field 1 next to the woods, and Fields 2-4 by the concession stands next to the handicapped parking
3. Designate an Individual to retrieve Emergency Equipment
4. Direction of EMS to the scene:
a. Designate 3 individuals stationed to “flag down” EMS at:
1. Holland / Vincent Entrance
2. Field Turn in
3. At Building to point them to field
b. Scene control: limit the scene to first aid providers and move bystanders away from the area
