Developmental Program

OVERVIEW

The Developmental Program welcomes soccer beginners and kids seeking a less competitive environment. It aims to enhance soccer quality in Athens-Clarke County and increase children's participation. Open to boys and girls aged 4 and up, it's the starting point for young players. Focused on FUN, LEARNING, and COMMUNITY, the program introduces soccer positively, aiming for lifelong engagement. Every initiative for Players and Coaches enhances this goal. It fosters a sense of soccer-centered community, uniting diverse families to celebrate youth, health, and community. Ages 4-12, with potential for older teams based on demand. No prior experience or advanced skills needed. Volunteer coaches required.

PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS

Team Formation and Coaching: Children in each age group will be grouped into teams and provided with a volunteer coach. Coaches will communicate practice schedules to players.
Practice and Game Schedule: Teams usually practice once a week and play one weekly game. Games are generally scheduled on Saturdays.
Game Frequency: Teams will participate in approximately 8 to 10 games per season.
Game Scheduling: Intra-league games for U6-U10 are arranged by AUSA. Inter-league games for U12 & above are scheduled by Georgia Soccer using the RIAS (Recreation Inter-Affiliate Schedule) system.

PLAYER/PARENT EXPECTATIONS

Equal Playing Time: Each player is ensured at least one half of playing time or equal time on the field.

Commitment: Regular attendance at practices is expected. Players should communicate anticipated absences and arrive on time for designated game days.

Parent Participation: Parents are encouraged to actively engage in the league. Participation in your child's team as a coach or team manager is welcomed. Registration for volunteering is available during child registration.

Feedback and Improvement: Suggestions and comments from parents are invited. While not all ideas can be implemented immediately, the league aims to continually improve in upcoming seasons.

U5-U6: $110
U7-U8: $125

Late Registration
(01/16/2025 - 02/15/2025):

U5-U6: $135
U7-U8: $150
U9-U10: $175
U11-U12: $200

Please note:

These fees include Georgia Soccer registration and insurance, jersey, referee fees, field use, and league administration.
Depending on participation numbers, some age groups might be merged.
