ATHENS FC WELCOMES STEO MAGENNIS AS USL 2 HEAD COACH

Athens FC proudly welcomes Stephen "Steo" Magennis as the new head coach of our USL 2 men's program.

Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Steo brings nine seasons of experience as the assistant men's soccer coach at Georgia Gwinnett College. Prior to joining the Grizzlies, Magennis served as the assistant coach for Lander University's men's soccer program for three seasons, where he built a junior varsity program. His coaching journey encompasses success not only in collegiate settings but also in semi-professional and minor leagues. Magennis has notably served as Head Coach for NPSL side Georgia Revolution and as assistant coach/director of operations for the New Orleans Jesters. Among his coaching accolades are NPSL Coach of the Year nominee, three NAIA Southeast Staff of the Year awards, three A.I.I Championships, and an NCAA D2 Peach Belt Championship.
